2025…
On paper, 2025 was supposed to be the year of the ‘steady state.’ I’d finally reached that airsoft nirvana where my platforms were dialed in, my kits were complete, and the plan was simple: stop teching, stop buying, and just play. But as the saying goes, life had other plans.
Between a few personal events and a mounting pile of ‘overrunning’ tasks that seemed to eat my weekends alive, my drive for the hobby didn’t just stall—it vanished. For most of the year, my gear sat gathering dust as my discontent grew only to try to get back into the zone for the two main events of the year ID2 and NAF.
It’s hard to find the energy to gear up when your ‘hobby brain’ is drowned out by external commitments and real-world noise. It was only in these final two months that the fog started to lift and the itch to get back on the field returned.
Let’s look at a few bullet points of my moments through 2025 and a resolve to have a better year coming.
Highlights:
- Figment fixed my Article 1 and wow did it deliver.
- Killzone’s Iron Divide 2 Event,
- Anzio – A site I honestly didn’t expect to play at again, came from nowhere out of convenience and I had a blast!
- Phoenix – I returned to Phoenix, was received on site like I hadn’t been away a week and taking in the site development and the entire day’s player vibe has left me on a very high note.
- NAF 2025 – My first NAF and with the KZ guys as well which made it even better.
Lowlights:
- Breaking the Article 1
- Not getting out to play anywhere near enough
- Teching (there are a couple of specific builds but in general, I’m done teching for others)
- Total game days played this year was 6, 2 of those were NAF.
