The TM Mk23 isn’t a new weapon on the market by any means, I took a long time to get round to the Mk23 (properly). After having a few clones, I couldn’t see what the buzz was about and then I decided to go all in on a TM version. My go to sniper side arm has always been the hi capa and for good reason but this year I’m mixing my loadouts up a bit and the SRS sniper setup now has a new side arm to get used to.

Out of 3 STTi’s and an ASG, I never did find the secret sauce, I dare say my first attempt was by far my best in fact and even then it was a real hodge podge of bits. Having gotten rid and said never again, then tried again and then again. This time was going to be different. I was going with a proper TM as everyone who didn’t have one said they’re no different and everyone who did said they’re just “better”.

I’m not a huge modder but I do like to do a few tweaks to get a bit more where I can, my TM was no exception, usual upgrades included a Hadron TDC snd hop arm. A Flamingo bucking as they seem to get the most consistently good feed back and my uncompromising need to shoot stainless inner barrels from PDI. In addition to those, I run a Sniper Mechanics Hex suppressor, a shorter than stock suppressor that helps to increase mobility and it really kills down the audible signature. Finally, a good strip down, lube up of all the moving parts and removal of the 2 stage sear as I prefer a single pull.

I’ve got to report back, after maybe 1-2 mags through it, the shots just snapped into place. Only using 3’s in it the range was there, bearing in mind this is a sniper side arm so 30M is plenty enough, it was reaching out to 50-60 without hesitation and shot after shot into the same place, putting a few AEG’s in the practise area to shame.

In game I have this mental block with new weapons, it’s like they need their initial kill to feel right and then the shots flow, well warm up game engaged and yep – initial kill plus more were rolling in and we were off, at one point with a 6 kill streak before swapping back to the SRS to carry on.

The TM Mk23 does just feel great in your hand, yes it’s plastic, yes it’s BIG and no it doesn’t have recoil but it’s a really well functioning airsoft pistol that you can easily get reaching out to the enemy with little to no mods.

My previous encounters didn’t end well and to show my cards, if you’re thinking about an Mk23, definitely do it but if you want an easier journey to getting the mythic beast we see in the YT videos reaching out further than your average AEG. Start it with a TM.
