Taken at Killzone Airsoft, this is the day the DMR destroyed earned it’s stripes.
I’ll try to keep it TL;DR
I always struggle to go back over the year, Google Photos helps me immensely though as I tend to capture at least some kind of image every trip out. Not for the sake of blogging it, but capturing the moment, sharing to absent friends or for other media purposes. All in all – A good year, I don’t feel I brang the variety I was promising due to the house build and new baby but I have made movements to sharpening up the YouTube content as well as starting to push out of the comfort zone with the weapons.
Sites

2022 saw some of the age old favourites as well as some new.
Skirmish CQB in Kirkby is always a favourite, additions of more cover have slowed the gameplay down a little and I’m undecided if this is good or bad but overall I really hope to use it some more next year.
YTA Borderlands received 2 visits this year, one at the start and one at the end. Both very good days, second time round I suffered a gun failure but the trusty Jack stepped up and kept me ploughing through for the day. A great woodland site that I wish was a little closer.
Leicester Skirmish again is a staple of my Airsofting world, always a constantly good day, a long thin site used to great effect. There’s not a short amount I can write about Lutterworth, read my blog post here or just go for it, you won’t be dissappointed.
West Midlands FOB was an odd day out, I went with a group I love playing with and we just didn’t have a great day, the game site in theory is fantastic however due to super thick undergrowth, it played very much like COD with 3 lanes and choke points…. in the woods.
Killzone Airsoft again is a classic in the waiting, I’ve actually been to Killzone twice this year, once playing on the Halloween special and once prioer to that marshalling. A fantastic site ran by true players who love the game, I can’t wait to see this evolve over the next year.
Halo Mill was the final outing of the year, this is the site that made me fall in love with CQB, having watched the Renegades YouTube videos and wanting to try it myself, I’ve always had a romantic view of Halo Mill. It was a good day but again, it wasn’t mind blowing and is a good hour and a half away, I know I can get better experiences closer so whilst it wasn’t awful. I won’t be rushing back.
Guns RIF’s Weapons Pistols

I have added some variance now. I am and always will be a capa dominated player and YouTube channel. No questions there. I have however broadened my horizons on the pistol side this year with a “real” TM Mk23 and very recently another AAP01 which is here to stay.
We’ve continued upgrading the Capa’s, the plastic fantastic is more potent than ever, the GM continues to get parts, the Battlecat is nearly finished and the skirmish pistol continues to be a solid performer.
The SRS Sniper has had some parts although is currently awaiting some TLC on the scope and alignment.
The CM16’s have been fantastic this year, the Jack is such a solid performer, I am so glad I have it and although am often tempted to change it, I don’t and with good reason. The DMR really came into it’s own in October, at 1.88J (well I ran it just under) it kicked ass flinging .4’s so well it was like cheat mode. Sadly it too came a cropper with the trigger mechanism which is awaiting to be stripped, cleaned, metering screw installed and then rebuilt. It was so good at DMR levels, I dropped to 1.14J but then sadly at higher pace it was shooting then missing then shooting then missing. It’ll be back for 2023 better than ever.
People

2022 has been another great year and I’ve met some amazing new people and continued to build even better friendships with others. Sadly my Recon101 group seems to have ben washed away now and out of just life being life I don’t get much chance to play with Flintlock and Cliff however would easily jump at the chance if given.
I’ve played with some awesome people this year, Al, Andy, Bulldog, Kyle and Joe to name a few and will continue to hound you guys about playing as we go forwards.
People I’d like to play with? Honestly I don’t mind! Whoever and wherever! Let’s get bombed up and Go!
What’s coming in 2023?

This year I tried to focus on variety. Next year I’m going to continue to build out my non-capa weapons, I already know of a new CQB coming up and intend on spending more time with my friends so enjoyment is absolutely maxxed!
YouTube content will continue to focus on the builds and there will be more written content on the site with a couple more gameplay videos than 2022 (I’m hoping).
